In fact, for nearly 10 years, the City has been working towards the area\u2019s renovation, encouraging young architects to propose innovative, eco-responsible projects.<\/p>\n<h2>Versailles Chantiers : a new district for Versailles<\/h2>\n<p>The new Versailles Chantiers District is an urban project designed to be a natural setting within the city. With plants aplenty and low-rise buildings, the space here is airy and pleasant for strolling. The plan was to breathe new life into the Versailles Chantiers District whilst preserving its ancestral identity.<\/p>\n<p>Renovated in 2016, the train station has retained its original clock and 1930s fa\u00e7ade. The old freight depot has become the new head offices for the chain Nature &amp; D\u00e9couvertes are will also include a shop. Faithful to its philosophy, the brand will install solar panels on its roof, and a permaculture site will be created on the Long Pond, in partnership with the Palace of Versailles. A large-scale project which places the environment at the forefront.<\/p>\n<p>The Etangs Gobert public garden was designed by Michel Desvigne and Inessa Hansch, who took care to preserve the palace\u2019s old water tanks. This park includes an upper walkway, a steel footbridge and landscaping over 6,500 m\u00b2 which will lead you to the St Louis District.<\/p>\n<p>This area feels like a \u201cnature town\u201d and is located just 12 minutes from Paris Montparnasse Train Station, 8 minutes from La D\u00e9fense and a short walk from the Palace of Versailles.
